Margherita College established in 1978 is located on a sprawling pollution free campus of 26 bighas of land in the head quarter of Margherita sub-division in the district of Tinsukia, Assam guarded by the majestic Patkai Hills. Margherita College is the easternmost provincialised college in Assam catering to the higher academic needs of a diverse population including several indigenous tribal, tea tribes and other ethnic communities. The College is registered under Societies Registration Act 1860 and Sections 2(f) and 12B of the UGC Act, 1956. The College campus is within 50 metres of the National Highway No. 38 and is connected by both road and rail communications. Mohanbari (Dibrugarh) airport is only 100 kms off from the college.
